FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE RICK DELLARATTA QUARTET TO PERFORM AT THE OCHOS RIOS JAZZ FESTIVAL! Rick DellaRatta will perform on July 13-15th at The Ochos Rios Jazz Festival with his quartet as part of his "Jazz for Peace" world tour which began at Troy Music Hall with Eddie Gomez, Lenny White and Paquito D'Rivera last fall. Recent performances include Rick DellaRatta, studio legends Will Lee, Chris Parker and Dave Mann for NYC performances on May 14th at The Metropolitan and on May 16th at The Cutting Room. Due to the extraordinary success of Jazz Vocalist/Pianist Rick DellaRatta's five albums for Stella Records, the label has signed Rick to an additional and exclusive contract to produce other artists for the company. The first artist chosen by Stella is Japanese Jazz Vocal Sensation FUKUMI. The album, set for release this summer, features an all star New York band and is already generating enormous interest. The award winning Singer/Instrumentalist has also agreed to an exclusive endorsement deal with Earthworks Microphones. DellaRatta, considered by many to be the premier singer/instrumentalist in jazz today, was recently nominated for the 2000 MAC Award for "Recording Of The Year" for his double album live CD release titled "Live in Brazil & The Blue Note" on Stella Records. Rick was also a 1998 and 1999 ASCAP Popular Award Winner as well as the 1997 Back Stage Bistro Award Winner for outstanding singer/instrumentalist. Rick DellaRatta recently completed his symphonic composition "Permutata" which was recorded at the world renowned Abbey Road Studios by The London Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Roger Briggs for the MMC label. His latest feature interview in print can be found in the current edition of Jazz Improv Magazine. Additional information on Rick DellaRatta can be found on the Internet at the following sites:
"DellaRatta has the talent, tunes and superb sidemen to deserve at least a Diana Krall -sized career. He sings and plays better, and fronts a tremendous band." Daily Gazette "DellaRatta's voice has a soft and pure tone that is beautiful to hear. DellaRatta's intonation is perfect, and he wonderfully recalls Jobim's intentional flatness that gives the notes a wistful falling sound. And when Gomez walks his bass with DellaRatta's piano, the whole room syncs into the swing." Jazzreview.com On Rick DellaRatta's "Thought Provoking" CD: "Rick DellaRatta is one of the people who is taking jazz to the next level." Dr. Billy Taylor FOR BOOKING CONTACT: Marylou Pedone /LJJM - |
